Schnorr have manufactured disc springs since 1908, and are renowned for the expertise gained in this time. The disc spring is unbeatable where there is a requirement for high load with small deflection and limited installation space - characteristics that have introduced the springs into a multitude of applications. Disc springs can be used individually or stacked in parallel for increased load or stacked in series for increased deflection. Calibrated stacks designed to suit a specific customer requirement are a Schnorr speciality.
Schnorr disc springs are manufactured to DIN 2092 and 2093 with standard sizes from 6mm to 250mm outer diameter. Special sizes from 3mm to 1m outer diameter have also been produced and altogether there is a range of 12,000 standard and special executions.
High quality spring steels are used together with, when required, heat and corrosion resistant materials such as Inconels and Nimonics.
A derivative of the disc spring – the ‘K’ bearing preload spring – enables bearings to run without play and noise. These are available in plain or slotted versions to suit bearings up to 360mm outer diameter.
A major advantage of using Schnorr is their knowledge and understanding of the stresses at work in a disc spring. Their expertise in the manufacture and heat treatment of their springs ensures that they are particularly suitable for dynamic loadings – a common area of failure for less well-made springs.
For static loadings a range of Belleville springs made to the same dimensions and lower material specification is available.
Schnorr holds ISO9001 and TS16949 approvals.
