This is the combination of parallel sets in series (figure 21 – d). For ‘i’ sets in series and ‘n’ springs in parallel following results without considering friction:

With this arrangement the spring load is proportional to the number of disc springs in parallel, while the deflection in proportional to the number of sets. In formula 25 t must be replaced with t’ if necessary.Â
